Learn how to code creative animations using SVG paths and the getPointAtLength() function. SVG is a very neat format to display any illustration, icon or logo on a website. Furthermore, they can be animated in CSS or JavaScript to make them more attractive. But SVG can also be used for their data only, without the visual! Let me explain… An SVG is a vector image format, which means it is not made of coloured pixels, but math functions that, once interpreted, can be rendered on screen. Since the browser must convert the file from functions to actual pixels, it also let us access a wide variety of methods to either manipulate, or retrieve data from the math. In today’s article, we will explore the function getPointAtLength() and see how we can use the data of an SVG path for creative use cases such as the demo below.

A Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) is a compact sequence of characters that identifies an abstract or physical resource. This specification defines the generic URI syntax and a process for resolving URI references that might be in relative form, along with guidelines and security considerations for the use of URIs on the Internet. The URI syntax defines a grammar that is a superset of all valid URIs, allowing an implementation to parse the common components of a URI reference without knowing the scheme-specific requirements of every possible identifier. This specification does not define a generative grammar for URIs; that task is performed by the individual specifications of each URI scheme.

The intent of this guide is to reduce cognitive friction when scanning code from different authors. It does so by enumerating a shared set of rules and expectations about how to format PHP code. The style rules herein are derived from commonalities among the various member projects. When various authors collaborate across multiple projects, it helps to have one set of guidelines to be used among all those projects. Thus, the benefit of this guide is not in the rules themselves, but in the sharing of those rules.

Power your metrics and alerting with a leadingopen-source monitoring solution. Prometheus implements a highly dimensional data model. Time series are identified by a metric name and a set of key-value pairs. PromQL allows slicing and dicing of collected time series data in order to generate ad-hoc graphs, tables, and alerts. Prometheus has multiple modes for visualizing data: a built-in expression browser, Grafana integration, and a console template language. Prometheus stores time series in memory and on local disk in an efficient custom format. Scaling is achieved by functional sharding and federation. Each server is independent for reliability, relying only on local storage. Written in Go, all binaries are statically linked and easy to deploy.

What is the best video codec for game recording, video recording, and screen recording? If you use a high-compression codec, you can get a small video file, but the encoding speed might be slower. If you use a high-quality codec, you can get the best quality video, but the video file size might be larger. If you use a high-speed codec, you can reduce CPU usage, but the video file size might be larger. So, you have to choose the best video codec by yourself to meet your recording needs.

MAVO and MAVO LF are based on the same image process platform, using advanced color processing architecture and whole new CMOS image sensors to achieve super low-noise, high dynamic range. Whether it is the S35 format version of MAVO or the large-format version of MAVO LF, the 6K cameras can bring stunning details and organic images. MAVO LF with large-format sensor provides cleaner images, wider viewing angles, shallower depth of field, and more immersive presence for cinematographers. Both MAVO and MAVO LF can shoot 6K wide 66fps, 4K wide 100fps slo-mo. Both slow-mo and normal frame rate can get the same superior images, more than 14 stops of latitude, pleasing skin tones and shadow details are reserved perfectly. With 6K 3:2 aspect ratio, in addition to the conventional 16:9 and 17:9 standard aspect ratio, the CMOS sensor can also provide a variety of image formats, such as 4:3, 6:5 S35 anamorphic shooting, even the open gate 6016×4016, up to 24 million pixels’ images!

Pick a color value format, input two valid CSS color values in the format you chose, and pick the number of midpoints you'd like to see. The palette will show the colors you input as well as the requested number of midpoint colors, and the values of those colors. All numbers are rounded to the nearest integer. Clicking on a square in the "waterfall" display will fill in the appropriate value for whichever input is highlighted. Switching between value formats will translate whatever values are in place. "Clear" removes all values and colors, but does not change the current value format. The URL of the page is updated with each change so you can share or bookmark the colors, blend steps, and value format currently shown. If you'd like to have the Color Blender for offline use, just view source and save to your hard drive.

The SWIFT network supports the following message standards: SWIFT Message types are the format or schema used to send messages to financial institutions on the SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) network. The original message types were developed by SWIFT and retrospectively made into an ISO standard, ISO 15022. This was later supplemented by a XML based version under ISO 20022.

In computing, a comma-separated values (CSV) file stores tabular data (numbers and text) in plain text. Each line of the file is a data record. Each record consists of one or more fields, separated by commas. The use of the comma as a field separator is the source of the name for this file format. The CSV file format is not standardized. The basic idea of separating fields with a comma is clear, but that idea gets complicated when the field data may also contain commas or even embedded line-breaks. CSV implementations may not handle such field data, or they may use quotation marks to surround the field. Quotation does not solve everything: some fields may need embedded quotation marks, so a CSV implementation may include escape characters or escape sequences. In addition, the term "CSV" also denotes some closely related delimiter-separated formats that use different field delimiters. These include tab-separated values and space-separated values. A delimiter that is not present in the field data (such as tab) keeps the format parsing simple. These alternate delimiter-separated files are often even given a .csv extension despite the use of a non-comma field separator. This loose terminology can cause problems in data exchange. Many applications that accept CSV files have options to select the delimiter character and the quotation character.

Scalable vector graphics, abbreviated as SVG, are web-based image formats which are used for vector-based-graphics whereby animations and interactivity are supported. SVG defines the graphics in XML format and when SVG's are zoomed, enlarged or scaled down the quality won’t be affected. SVG's have quite some benefits compared to normal images and canvas-based displays. SVG's aren’t often used by developers because they simply don’t know about SVG's or because they seem to be too complicated. Find below a clear overview of the various SVG benefits:

It seems like there's a million calendar and clock widgets out there, and when you look past the eye-candy, they all have one thing in common: they're tedious at best. At worst, counter-intuitive. Sure, a picker that uses sliders or spinners, or looks like an analog clock face might be cute, but did you ever notice how long it takes to position one to the correct hour and minute? Or how about choosing a month that's more than a season away? Worse yet, entering your birth year on a datepicker that forces you to click... backwards... repeatedly... one... year... at... a... time? Does your favorite "pretty" picker even work if your user has a keyboard, but not a mouse? Does it scale larger if the user increases the text size on your page? If not, ask your legal department how they'd feel about an accessibility lawsuit!

A very useful, brief and summarizing lookup website. Data compression has been extremely useful to us over the years. Whether its a zip file containing images to be sent in a mail or a compressed data backup stored on a server, we use data compression to save valuable hard drive space or to make the downloading of files easier. There are compression formats out there which allow us to sometimes compress our data by 60% or more. I’ll run you through using some of these formats to compress and decompress files and directories on a Linux machine. We’ll cover the basic usage of zip, tar, tar.gz and the tar.bz2 formats. These are some of the most popular formats for compression used on Linux machines.

From blogging to log analysis and search engine optimisation (SEO) people are looking for scripts that can parse web pages and RSS feeds from other websites - to see where their traffic is coming from among other things. Parsing your own HTML should be no problem - assuming that you use consistent formatting - but once you set your sights at parsing other people's HTML the frustration really sets in. This page presents some regular expressions and a commentary that will hopefully point you in the right direction.
