Plastimo's high resistance flexible water tanks are a reliable, practical and low cost solution to the storage of fresh water on board. As the water tanks are flexible, light and form-fitting, they can be fitted in awkward, difficult to access areas that it would not normally be possible to fit a standard rigid water tank. The tanks consist of a welded non-porous tasteless PVC water chamber that is located inside a tough nylon envelope for complete watertightness and resistance to tearing and abrasion. This double envelope design makes maintenance easy, as the inner chamber can be easily removed from the outer protective envelope for routine cleaning and examination. The water tanks are supplied complete, ready to install, with a 38mm diameter inlet fitting and 12mm diameter outlet.

When a metal is exposed to underwater or wet environments, marine grade metals may be necessary to prevent the material from failing under the conditions. To be considered a marine grade, the material must be able to resist corrosive effects that are common in a water environment. To achieve this, special alloying elements are added to these grades in order to defend against corrosion. Marine grades can be found in most of the metal types, which include aluminium, stainless steel, brass, bronze, copper and carbon steel. Most carbon steel is not well-suited for marine environments, however, there are several marine grade carbon steels available. AH36, DH36, and EH36 are all examples of commonly used marine grade carbon steels approved by the American Bureau of Shipping. These grades will have slightly more alloying elements such as manganese and chromium compared to their ASTM grade counterparts, which helps achieve higher strength and more corrosion resistance. There are also marine grades of engineering steel as well. Grades MD, ME, MF, MG, and others can provide the strength that normal alloy steel is known for, and have also been approved by the American Bureau of Shipping for use in shipbuilding applications.

5052 aluminium a higher strength non-heat treatable alloy. When annealed it is stronger than 1100 & 3003. The alloy benefits from a medium to high fatigue strength making it an excellent choice for use in structures which are exposed to excessive vibrations. 5052 also offers very good resistance to corrosion, especially in marine atmospheres. With good weldability and formability characteristics, the alloy can be used in a wide range of applications.

Aluminum 5052 is one of the higher strength non-heat treatable alloys (Annealed it is stronger than 1100 and 3003). Alloy 5052 has excellent characteristics with a high fatigue strength it is used for structures which are subject to excessive vibrations. As 5052 also has excellent corrosion resistance, especially in marine atmospheres and is therefore commonly used in boats, marine components, fuel and oil tubing. Aluminum 5052 is stocked by 120 North American distributors and produced by 46 large mills. Distributors will offer small quantity buys while mills will generally only sell large quantities, with delivery times anywhere from 10 to 50 weeks depending on size and form required. This material is stocked primarily in Flat Rolled Products by 111 distributors but is also available to a lesser extent in Tubular Products, Wire Products, Structurals, and Scientific Forms.

Front and rear light powered by a single dynamo. High intensity light for low light situations. Made in China. An effective product to use. Installed upside down fork and seatpost. The front and rear lights are powered by a single generator.. Headlight emitting a powerful light. Side lighting. Approved E6 reflectors. Does not require batteries. Fixes to a bike. No resistance - Always lit up, always safe - no maintenance required. If you are looking for a beacon that lights the road in places where public lighting is lacking, the RL700 is the most sensible choice. Its frictionless dynamo powers a headlight which emits a strong light and a wide beam on the road. The beacon emits light through a side of small holes, through an angle up to 270 degrees. The result is a greatly enhanced visibility in traffic. The front and rear lights are fitted with E6 approved reflectors. The front headlight is installed on the steering fork, above the front wheel, and the rear light is installed on the seat post. The front and rear RL700 lights are powered by a single generator mounted on the carrier. The magnets are placed on the rear wheel spokes. The light powers its own current with its eco-friendly coil and generator with magnets on the spokes of the wheel - no need for any battery. The light is attached to the bicycle: you never forget it. The light is always active and ensures greater safety in traffic, day and night. Through this magnet lamp, no more flat batteries, forgotten lights or resistance to pedalling. Nothing but a permanent lighting for constant security. The RL700 kit contains a headlight and tail light. Constant lighting: lights up when you ride and keeps going when you stop.

The IPX Rating System is used to evaluate how resistant products are to environmental conditions. Many cycling and camera products often come with an IPX rating letting the consumer know how well an item will hold up under certain environmental conditions. The IP (Ingress Protection) numbers are written as IPXX, where “X”s are placeholders for numbers. The first “X” represents solid (dust/particle) resistance and the second “X” represents liquid resistance (water). When looking for cycling equipment or photography equipment, those products that have a higher IPX rating will be able to withstand the elements for longer periods of time without failure. For those who commute by bike, an IPX4 or greater will help keep your gear dry.

The primary objective of these design examples is to provide illustrations of the use of the 2010 AISC Specification for Structural Steel Buildings (ANSI/AISC 360-10) and the 14 th Edition of the AISC Steel Construction Manual. The design examples provide coverage of all applicable limit states whether or not a partic ular limit state controls the design of the member or connection.

The treatment of torsion in most Mechanics of Materials textbooks is uneven. While circular cross sections are analyzed in detail (sometimes too thoroughly), the coverage of non-circular sections is typically relegated to “advanced material” covering 4-5 pages. (In this respect Beer-Johnston- DeWolf is somewhat better than Vable, who totally omits Open Thin Wall sections)

Carbon fibre-reinforced carbon (aka carbon–carbon, abbreviated C/C) is a composite material consisting of carbon fiber reinforcement in a matrix of graphite. It was developed for the nose cones of intercontinental ballistic missiles, and is most widely known as the material for the nose cone and wing leading edges of the Space Shuttle orbiter. It has been used in the brake systems of Formula One racing cars since 1976; carbon–carbon brake discs and pads are a standard component of Formula One brake systems.
