Canvey Island Tide Times. Canvey Island Weather is a private weather station based on Canvey Island, Essex. I have been collecting data since September 2009, initially using an Oregon WMR 200 weather station. Archived data is available on the site dating from January 2010. On the 1st of August 2016 I installed a Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus weather station with Daytime Fan-Aspirated Radiation Sheild. The station consists of, anemometer, rain gauge, thermo-hydro sensor, UV sensor and solar sensor, all situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible. Data is collected at intervals between 2.5 seconds and 60 seconds (depending on the sensor) and the website is fully updated every 5 minutes, using Weather Display Software as the interface. The software runs exclusively on a ACEPC AK1 Mini Desktop PC, running Windows 10 Pro, Version 21H1. The complete set up runs 24/7.

This is a 3 to 4 day course, depending on wind and conditions, aimed to deliver a safe, informed, confident and competent day sailor/skipper who can confidently command a sailboat up to 10 meters (32.8 feet) and crew during daylight hours in fair conditions in inland waters (bay or lake sailing) or coastal waters up to 5 miles offshore. As you advance and become more proficient as crew or skipper you take on bigger challenges that require proper training to ensure the safety of your family and friends. The bigger the boat or length of adventure the more training you require. Most of us prefer to spend our time on the water and not in a classroom. I am an addicted kiter, helicopter and jet pilot who seeks the wind, waves, METARs and powder snow almost constantly. Since programming is my passion, I coded Windyty.com in 2014 as my pet project. The original version was highly inspired by the products from the Swiss company Meteoblue and other project called "Earth", that displayed animated wind particles on the globe. I have completely rewrote open source codes of Earth and also made an agreement with Meteoblue to use some of their products that time. And thus Windyty was born (renamed to Windy a few years later). My goal is to keep Windy small and fast to be accessible in the most remote locations.

Visibility: Real-time vessel positions displayed on the MarineTraffic Live Map are extremely useful to a wide spectrum of users closely-related to the shipping industry one way or the other. To name a few, ship owners, agents, pilots, tug operators, port authorities, crews' families and friends, passengers, cargo handlers or recipients, brokers, leisure boaters, sailing racers, ship chandlers, bunkering companies, yacht charterers or brokers may have a reason to monitor the positions of your vessel. The list of interested parties is unlimited while the numbers speak for themselves; the visibility of the MarineTraffic website is such that the number of visitors per day well exceeds the half a million mark! Safety: Although MarineTraffic is not intended to be used as a safety tool, there are many cases where making your position widely known could enhance your safety at sea. The DFW Metroplex is located in the part of Texas known as "Tornado Alley." Severe weather can occur anytime but the spring and summer months are when thunderstorms can fire up in a heartbeat. The best advice is to conduct tornado drills at home just like the schools do routinely. Be prepared. Be safe. I grew up in the Wichita Falls area and witnessed the devastation from one of the worst tornadoes in Texas. It was a mile and a half wide and it stayed on the ground for miles and miles. This killer tornado struck back in 1979, and it's a wonder more people weren't injured or killed. Technology today can pinpoint suspicious cloud rotation and predict what parts of town need to take immediate shelter.
